
Our Doctors
Dr. Douglas M. Inns, O.D
Dr. Inns is a 1982 graduate of the University of Houston College of Optometry. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Wilfred Laurier University, Canada. During his training at the University of Houston, he held positions in research and was a teaching assistant / laboratory instructor. Postgraduate work includes therapeutic courses at Pennsylvania College of Optometry and the Optometric Glaucoma Specialist Course at the University of Texas Medical School. Dr. Inns has published in Optometry Today and Optometric Management. He also volunteers at the schools in his area. Dr. Inns and his wife, Lynn, spend much of their spare time calling and visiting with their four boys in college.
Dr. Michael D. Toups, O.D.
Dr. Toups is a 1984 graduate of the University of Houston College of Optometry. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from Northeast Louisiana University. Being a therapeutically licensed optometrist, Dr. Toups is trained to diagnose and treat ocular conditions. He specializes in contact lenses and he is current with all refractive surgery procedures. Dr. Toups is married, has five children and has lived in the Houston area since 1980.
Dr. Tessa M. Markus, O.D.
Dr. Markus is a native Houstonian who completed her Doctorate at the University of Houston College of Optometry. She pursued her undergraduate studies at Angelo State University and the University of Houston, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree. Dr. Markus completed her internships with Houston Eye Associates and Eye Excellence where she gained experience in managing a variety of ocular diseases including cataract and glaucoma. Dr. Markus specializes in contact lenses and enjoys fitting patients in rigida and soft bifocals.
Dr. Clint Gonzales, O.D.
Dr. Gonzales is a native of Houston who earned his bachelor of Arts in Biology at the University of Texas in Austin. He later completed his Doctorate at the University of Houston College of Optometry, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He received additional training at Quantico Naval Medical Clinic and at Houston Eye Associates with emphasis on co-management of cataract surgeries and glaucoma care. His professional areas of interest include contact lenses and pediatric care.
Dr. Hamida Hemani, O.D.
Dr. Hamida Hemani received her Bachelor and Doctor of Optometry degree form the university of Houston. Her postgraduate training includes a residency in pediatrics and binocular vision from the Southern California College of Optometry. In addition she has received training for Houston Eye Associated and Bellaire Eye Associated providing pre- and post-op cataract, glaucoma and refractive surgical care. Dr. Hemani is a clinical faculty member at the University of Houston College of Optometry.
Dr. Jill Liu, O.D.
Dr. Jill Liu graduated in 2003 with her Doctorate from the University of Houston College of Optometry after receiving her Bachelor of Arts form the University of Texas a Austin. Upon graduation form optometry school, Dr Liu completed a Post Doctorial Fellowship in Cornea and Contact Lens Research, specializing in RGP fits of keratoconus and post corneal transplant patients. In addition, she has received training form Plano Eye Associates and Charles Garcia M.D. and Associates with emphasis on co -management of cataract surgeries, glaucoma care, and diabetic retinopathy. Dr. Liu is also an adjunct clinical faculty member at the University of Houston College of Optometry.
Dr. Jessica Ransonet, O.D.
Dr. Jessica Ransonet completed her Doctorate from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 2008, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She earned her Bachelor degree in Nutritional Sciences form Texas A&M University at College Station. Dr. Ransonet received externship training at Hermann Memorial where she gained experience in managing retinal pathology, glaucoma and cataracts. She also received extensive training from First Eye Care Infinity Laser Vision in Dallas specializing in contact lens and refractive surgery. Dr. Ransonet is a therapeutically licensed optometrist and an optometric glaucoma specialist. Dr. Ransonet's interest lie in the area of retinal pathology and pediatric care.
Dr. Lauren Tom, O.D.
Dr. Lauren Hull, a graduate of Montgomery High School, obtained her bachelor’s degree in biology and psychology from Baylor University and a doctor of optometry degree from Southern California College of Optometry. She completed optometric rotations through the navy, Indian Health Services, and the Veteran’s Administration. Dr. Tom is a therapeutically licensed optometrist and is trained to diagnose and treat many diseases and conditions of the eye. She enjoys providing primary eye care to patients of all ages and fitting rigid gas permeable and soft contact lenses.
Dr. Tiffanie R. Childs, O.D.
Dr. Childs is a native Texan, raised in southwest Houston. Dr. Childs received her optometric degree from the University of Houston. Her externship training includes co-managing refractive surgery patients and fitting contact lenses. She was stationed at Wurzburg Army Hospital in Germany during the summer of 2006. Dr. Childs then completed a one year post-graduate residency specializing in ocular disease and co-management of cataract surgery at Omni Eye Specialists in Denver, Colorado. She enjoys traveling and photography.
Dr. Chase R. Hilton, O.D.
Dr. Chase R. Hilton is a native Houstonian. He earned his Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Houston, and his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Texas at Austin. He received extensive externship training at the Audie L. Murphy VA Hospital in San Antonio, where he gained experience in the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma, retinal pathologies, and cataracts. Additionally, he received extensive training at La Nueva Casa de Amigos Health Center in Houston. Dr. Hilton’s professional interests lie in retinal pathology and glaucoma. He enjoys golf and traveling.
Dr. Jennifer Brahm, O.D.
Dr. Jennifer Brahm was born and raised in Katy, Texas. She recently completed her Doctorate from the University Of Houston College Of Optometry. Dr. Brahm received externship training at the Eye Center of Texas and Navy Medical Hospital in San Diego, California. Her externship experience included co-management of lasik and cataract surgeries and the treatment of ocular diseases, including Glaucoma. Dr. Brahm is a member of the board of directors for a non-profit organization, Eye Care for Kids.
