The Conroe Optometrist
Our Eye Trends eye doctor’s Office in Conroe is proud of its great heritage. The city is named after northern born Union Cavalry officer, Isaac Conroe. Mr. Conroe founded a sawmill in 1881 and when lumber became one of the chief exports of Conroe in the latter half of the 19th century, he went on to become a lumber baron.
The city of Conroe also went on to develop its economy through the oil industries. The town was originally named “Conroe’s Switch”. During the 1930s, due to the success of the oil industry here, our city boasted more millionaires per capita than any other US city. Even Elvis Presley performed at the High School football field in 1955. Today we celebrate the beauty of our community and the communities that have grown up around Conroe.
