Nancy Nghe, O.D. is a licensed therapeutic optometrist and glaucoma specialist. Raised in Providence, RI she developed a passion for optometry, spending her summer breaks working for a private-practice optometrist in the small town of Wakefield, RI. Dr. Nghe received her Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science at the University of Rhode Island. She then obtained her Doctor of Optometry degree at the State University of New York College of Optometry. During her time at SUNY College of Optometry, Dr. Nghe completed her clinical training at Westpoint's Keller Army Community Hospital, VA Boston Health Care System, and Woodhull Medical and Mental Health Hospital.
Shortly after graduating, Dr. Nghe worked in a private practice in Providence, RI. There she continued to expand her expertise in managing a variety of ocular diseases, pediatrics, and specialty contacts in addition to providing primary eye care. She has also practiced alongside a number of ophthalmologists for several years in New York City providing pre and postoperative management of refractive surgeries, screening for ocular manifestations of systemic diseases, treating dry eye and glaucoma management. Outside the office, she has devoted her time volunteering for non-profit organizations taking part in several mission trips providing eye care to inner city children in New York City and internationally to the indigenous people of Iquitos, Peru. She is proud to call Houston her home and is excited to return to the Eye Trends team in providing quality comprehensive eye care to all ages in the North Houston community. She is exam proficient in Teochew and Spanish. Dr. Nghe has a special interest in myopia control, pediatrics and contact lenses.
In her spare time, Dr. Nghe enjoys pilates, traveling, and enjoying the year -round great weather Houston has to offer. She currently resides in Spring, TX with her french bulldog, Brooklyn.
